Being a conductor is to exercise much leadership
On April 9, 2009, I attended at the invitation of my friend Eduardo Potério educadíssima and his wife Carla, the Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo ( OSESP ) in the Sala São Paulo . In our cabin, were present Marcus Smith (composer of the Symphony Six studies presented that night), Jana Bouskova (harpist who played the Concerto for Harp of Alberto Ginastera ), Marcelo Lopes (OSESP Foundation Executive Director) and Laura Ferro (Director of the Cia . SwáSthya Performing Arts ).
According to Marcelo, the program was not the easiest of the year, both listening and playing. It was governed by the relevant Portuguese conductor Joana Carneiro , who gave a show. She is energetic and vigorous, with a very particular style. I could hear the blows with feet that Joan gave the small stage.

- Joan always attentive.
At just 32 years, has an international career exemplary, currently driving the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra. What caught my attention in his presentation was how exercising leadership over the orchestra. Overflowing a strong matriarchal style, seemed to be very attentive to each musician, as if to educate and prevent any slipping. It was with a mother who is attentive to your child to do everything right. She exuded care, need and love.
Magnetic reinforced the style that I think is what should be adopted by the leaders in this new economic and historical moment: a more matriarchal leadership, caring, and attentive to desrepressora senses the needs of people.
